How to read a job posting

Separate what is required, what is nice to have, and what is just wish-list.

Required versus nice to have

Postings often list far more than the team truly needs. A common rule of thumb: if you meet most of the core requirements and can speak to the rest, apply.

Look for the real job in the verbs

"Own", "design" and "lead" describe different seniority from "assist" and "support". The verbs tell you the level more reliably than the title.

Check eligibility lines

  • Work authorisation: some roles need the right to work in the US.
  • Location: on site, hybrid or remote, and which countries they hire in.
  • Visa sponsorship: some postings say they sponsor, some say they do not. Confirm with the employer.

Use the match view

JobEasi lists the skills you match and the ones you are missing for each job, so you can decide quickly and tailor honestly.
